Columbia College Community Chorus Spring Concert
The Columbia College Community Chorus is proud to perform our Spring Concerts on April 26th and 27th, at 3:00, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, on 13880 Joshua Way, in Sonora. The exciting program features two Coronation compositions: Mozart's Coronation Mass written in 1779, in Salzburg, and used for the coronation of Francis II, as the Holy Roman Emperor in 1792 and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Coronation Anthem: Make a Joyful Noise, for the coronation of King Charles III in 2023.
Other guaranteed crowd pleasers include spring love songs of Shearing and Shakespeare's Songs and Sonnets as well as Lauridsen's Sure on this Shining Night. Dr. Hollinger's own compositions of The Ocean's Song and California Love Song will delight the listener seeking pleasant harmony and lyrics that transport us to lively oceans and forests. Several spirituals and songs from Fiddler on the Roof are sure to elevate our moods to exhilarating! The concert ends with the Ashokan Farewell, chosen by Dr. Hollinger as his farewell to our music community, as the Hollingers are moving back East.
